There is no single chatter salary, because commission depends on how much the account sells. What can be measured is what agencies write in job posts and what candidates ask for.

What the median offer adds up to. $3 an hour for 40 hours a week is about $520 a month in base pay. A 3% commission adds $30 for every $1,000 of sales the chatter closes. The base is the floor, and the account decides the rest.
Base Pay vs. Commission: How Chatter Compensation Works
Agencies on DonutJobs use three pay structures. Of 611 OnlyFans chatter posts (Sep 2026), 609 state one of them:

1. Base Rate Only
A fixed hourly rate with no bonus. Pay is the same on a slow shift and a busy one. It suits trainee roles and inboxes that are closer to fan support than to selling.
2. Base + Commission (Most Common)
A small hourly base plus a percentage of what you sell. The percentage is low because the base carries most of the pay: at the median, commission only passes the $520 base once monthly sales go above roughly $17,300.
3. Commission Only
No base and a higher percentage. All of the risk sits with the chatter: a quiet account means a small payout, whatever hours you worked.
Comparing two offers. The table runs the median hybrid offer ($3 an hour, 40 hours a week, 3%) against the median commission-only offer (10%). The sales levels are inputs for the arithmetic, not typical results.

The two offers cross at about $7,400 of monthly sales. Below that, the hybrid offer pays more. Before you accept any commission, ask what it is calculated on (of the 546 chatter posts that pay commission, 351 set it on sales and 174 on revenue) and when it is paid: 326 chatter posts pay every two weeks, 147 weekly and 133 monthly.
What Should an Agency Pay OnlyFans Chatters?
The going offer on DonutJobs is $3 an hour plus 3% commission for a 40-hour week, paid every two weeks. A $3 base matches the median post. A $5 base meets the asking rate of at least three quarters of new candidates.
Hourly base
The middle half of hybrid chatter posts pays $2 to $3 an hour. New candidates ask for $3 at the 25th percentile and $5 at the median and the 75th (1,566 profiles, all roles, Oct 2026). At 40 hours a week, $3 is about $520 a month and $5 is about $866.
A low base does not stop applications. The median chatter post gets its first application 12 minutes after going live (604 posts) and 32 applications in its first two days (595 posts, Sep 2026). What job-post data cannot show is how long hires stay. Desirely, which sells an AI chat tool and so has a reason to stress the cost of human chatters, puts typical chatter turnover at 2 to 3 months in its chatter cost calculator (checked Oct 2026; it cites no source). If people leave that fast, the base is the first thing to test.
Commission
On top of a base, the median post pays 3%. Without a base, the median is 10% and the middle half runs from 10% to 20%. Desirely's calculator gives 8% to 20% of the revenue a chatter generates, which lines up with the commission-only posts. Write down whether the percentage applies to sales or to revenue, and track it per chatter in your CRM.

Check the offer against your margin
Chatter pay comes out of your agency's cut. Desirely's review of agency commission rates puts chatting-only management at 20% to 30% of a creator's net revenue (updated 13 Aug 2026, checked Oct 2026; its own summary of other sites). If both are counted on the same sales, a 10% chatter commission takes a third to a half of that fee. A base is a fixed cost: one seat covered 24 hours a day is 168 hours a week, or about $2,184 a month at $3 an hour.
What to put in the job post
- The hourly base and weekly hours, with the shift in the chatter's local time.
- The commission percentage, whether it applies to sales or revenue, and how it is tracked.
- The payout cycle. On a small base, candidates care when the commission arrives.
- A paid trial, paid whatever the outcome.

An earlier version of this guide listed hourly ranges by region. We removed them because we could not trace them to a source. Here is what we can measure.
Most candidates on DonutJobs live in the Philippines: 21,162 of 26,968 profiles, or 78%, as of Oct 2026. Their median asking rate on new profiles is $5 an hour, with a middle half of $3 to $5 (1,316 profiles), the same as the pool overall. No other country has 100 or more profiles in that sample, so we do not publish a rate for any of them.

Factors That Affect Chatter Pay
- Account sales. The same 3% is worth $30 on $1,000 of sales and $300 on $10,000.
- Hours. Chatter posts ask for a median of 40 hours a week, and a quarter ask for 48 or more (607 posts, Sep 2026).
- Typing speed. The median DonutJobs typing test is 31 words a minute. 29.4% of tests reach 40 and 11.2% reach 50 (12,782 tests, Oct 2026), so 50 words a minute puts you ahead of most test takers.
- English. 65.4% of candidates who took the DonutJobs English test score in its C1 band or higher (10,919 tests, Oct 2026). The bands are DonutJobs labels, not an official certificate.
- Tool experience. 435 of 611 chatter posts (Sep 2026) require an agency chat tool such as Infloww, CreatorHero or OnlyMonster. Knowing one shortens training.
Chatter Salary vs. Other VA Roles
On base pay, chatting is not priced differently from other remote assistant work on DonutJobs. The median asking rate on new profiles is $5 an hour, with a middle half of $3 to $5, for every role group we measure: all roles (1,566 profiles), social media work (483), sales or lead generation (384) and ecommerce work (227), as of Oct 2026. Role groups are self-reported and overlap.
The difference is commission. Of 1,195 hourly job posts on DonutJobs, 696 (58%) pay commission on top of the base, because the board skews toward chatter jobs. How to Earn More as a Chatter
- Get the terms in writing. Base rate, commission percentage, what it is calculated on, and the payout date.
- Ask about the account. Your commission depends on its sales. Ask what chat sales were last month and how many chatters share them.
- Finish the profile checks. Of 2,320 DonutJobs profiles that name OnlyFans work, 832 have internet, English and typing scores (Oct 2026). Employers can filter by those scores, so missing ones can keep you off a shortlist.
- Raise your typing speed. It is the easiest score to improve with practice, and fans expect quick replies.
- Ask for a review. After a few months of steady shifts and tracked sales, ask for a higher base or percentage and bring your numbers.
